(Council Bluffs) A Pottawattamie County Deputy was presented with a Life Saving Award.
The Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at approximately 1:55 AM, Deputy Trey Carstens was dispatched to a residence with a male in cardiac arrest. Deputy Carstens located the male and his spouse performing CPR. Deputy Carstens took over CPR until the male regained a pulse. Once rescue arrived, the male was transported to a local hospital.
Recently, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the male was released from the hospital and that Deputy Carstens’ actions helped make that possible.
On Friday, December 18, 2020, Deputy Carstens was presented with the Life Saving Award.
