(Des Moines) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds latest Proclamation of Disaster Emergency ends on Wednesday, December 16th, at midnight.
At a December 9th press conference, Reynolds made minimal changes to the proclamation.
Some of those changes involving organized sports and recreational events include bowling leagues may resume for youth and adults, but spectators were still limited to two per participant. The same two-spectator rule that also applies to high school athletes was extended to spectators for cheerleaders, band members, and others performing at high school sporting events. To ensure better consistency among restaurants, bars, and other venues that serve alcohol, including casinos, the state-mandated last call for in-person service at 10:00 p.m.
Reynolds said with hospitalization rates decreasing the state eased restrictions on elective procedures from a 50-percent reduction to a 25-percent decrease. She said they would continue to monitor virus activity over the next several days and assess whether additional changes may be possible on Wednesday, December 16.
