(Guthrie Co.) Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright and Chief Deputy Jeremy Bennett spoke with the Supervisors Tuesday morning about the purchase of two K9s.
Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink said they told the board that former K9 Rage has officially been retired and so they were looking at getting two new K9’s that will be dual purpose.
“They’ve gotten a lot of donations from the public and the gentleman who has been training these dogs and has them has offered them a deal. So, normally the dogs are around $16,000 a piece but he is offering, if they purchase both, they’ll be $10,500 for each dog. So they just wanted to keep the board informed and let them know that and the board didn’t have to do any formal approval but gave them basically their blessing to go ahead,” explained Fink.
In other news, the Supervisors approved the 2021 Insurance Renewal package and approved an agreement with the Office of the Chief Information Officer for the State of Iowa who oversees offers support for IT in the county.
