(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution and an ordinance related to the Northwest Wind Farm Urban Renewal Plan and the meeting Wednesday.
Prior to approval, the Board held a public hearing in which there were no comments from the public. Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg said she did receive one call from a citizen that was concerned that they were putting up more turbines, but she explained that they are just doing Tax Increment Financing (TIF) on the turbines that are already up.
The Board approved a resolution to adopt Amendment No. 2 to the Adair County Northwest Wind Farm Urban Renewal Plan and to sign the joint agreement with the cities.
Supervisors Chairman John Twombly…
The Board then waived the second and third readings and approved the Ordinance for the division of revenues under Section 403.19, Code of Iowa, for Amendment No. 2 to the Adair County Northwest Wind Farm Urban Renewal Plan.
Twombly said they have numerous items on their list of projects in this Amendment, but he explained that none of this really takes effect unless they decide to do a specific project; such as a culvert, a bridge, or a road, and then they bond for funds and that’s when the TIF kicks in.
