(Council Bluffs) The three finalists for the Iowa Western Community College presidency position will be at the Council Bluffs campus next week.
Last week, the board of trustees released the names of the three finalists’ for the presidency held by Dr. Dan Kinney for over 25-years. Dr. Kinney announced his plans to retire earlier this year.
“It was a rigorous national search,” said Brent Siegrist, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. “We ended up with 77-applicants from all over the United States. We narrowed it down from 77 to ten, and now down to three. We feel very comfortable with the quality of candidates and we’ll have a tough decision to make.”
The three finalists are Dr. David Hinds, who has served the last five years as the President of Victoria College in Victoria, Texas. Dr. Daniel Kinney, President of Iowa Central Community College, and Dr. Charles Lepper, who has served as the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Salt Lake Community College, a multi-campus institution serving over 60,000 students.
Each finalist will have their day on campus starting Wednesday, November 4, 5, and 6th. Each candidate will tour the campus, participate in a public forum, and interview with the full Board of Trustees.
According to the search timeline, the goal would be to name a new College president sometime in Mid-November. The new president will begin his duties on January 1, 2021.
