(Guthrie Center) ACGC’s weight room expansion project is progressing nicely. Activities Director Cody Matthewson say all of the foundational work is complete and things will be taking shape very, very soon.
Matthewson admits they lost a week due to rain in early September, but overall there haven’t been a lot of delays. He estimates the project to be about 60% complete. There’s about two months remaining. “It’s coming along pretty well. They have all the foundation work done. They had a crane in there so the structure should start going up.”
Once complete community members will have the opportunity to tour the facility and decide if they want to purchase a membership to access it as they desire. “We’re still working out all the details and what we are going to charge. It sounds like we are going to go with a $100 yearly fee. We’ll probably have a student fee for college kids or people that want to have access to it on the weekends.”
It’s a $1.2 million project that was approved by the school board in May. It’s a new, two level facility that’s going to be attached to the school facing the west. It will be an 8,000 square foot facility.
