(Denison) The Hawkeye Ten Conference Cross Country meet is set for Thursday at Denison. Harlan and Glenwood appear to be the favorites on the girl’s side, and Atlantic, Glenwood, and Lewis Central are apparent leaders heading into the boy’s race.
The Atlantic, Harlan, and Lewis Central boy’s teams have each shared meet titles against each other at various meets throughout the season. Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the Hawkeye Ten Conference Championship is up for grabs on Thursday.
The Harlan, Glenwood, and Atlantic girl’s teams appear to be the top three favorites to win a Conference Title. Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says earlier in the season one of their goals was a top-three finish in the Hawkeye Ten Conference Meet.
Glenwood is ranked 7th and Harlan is rated 8th in the latest IATC team rankings.
The meet starts at 4:00 p.m. with the Middle School Boy’s, at 4:10 p.m. Middle School Girl’s, 4:30 p.m. Junior Varsity Boys, and 5:00 p.m. Varsity Boys. The meet continues with the varsity girls at 5:30 p.m., followed by the J.V. girls at 6:00 p.m.
The meet will be held at the Northside Recreational Facility just east of Denison High School.
