(Red Oak) A Red Oak woman was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon.
The Red Oak Police Department says 73-year-old Donna Lewis was driving a 2012 Jeep Compass northbound in the 1400 block of North 6th Street when she swerved for a squirrel and lost control of her vehicle. The Jeep struck a 2015 Chevy Colorado, owned by Norman Edward Thompson. The estimated damage to both vehicles is $8,000 each.
Lewis was transported to the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital by Red Oak EMS to be evaluated. She was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

A Red Oak teen was cited for Failure to Maintain Control following an accident on Saturday.
The Red Oak Police Department says the 17-year-old female was driving a 2007 Ford Mustang turning south onto N. 3rd and thought she was going to hit a parked car. She overcorrected and lost control. The mustang left the roadway, hitting a large tree and a street sign.
The teen and a passenger were checked by medics from Red Oak Rescue and refused treatment.
