(Des Moines) The Iowa Business Council released its third quarter economic outlook survey for 2020 on Wednesday.
Governor Kim Reynolds at her press conference Wednesday said the overall economic index rose to 58.71, increasing 17.46 points since last quarter.
“It’s the first time since fourth quarter of 2019 that the index has been above 50 which represents significant optimism about Iowa’s economy. And, this follows up on the Iowa Associated Business and Industry survey of their members which also indicated that Iowa manufacturers expect strong results in the fourth quarter. 47 percent of those responding expect sales to expand and 57 percent plan to make capital expenditures,” said Reynolds.
Reynolds said this is good news, that hopefully the economy is recovering, we’re moving in the right direction and we can start to see some positive things continue to happen in our state.
