(Atlantic) The Atlantic Community Protection Committee will recommend the City Council amend an ordinance adding stop signs at two intersections. The intersections under consideration include; Olive and 22nd Street, and Chestnut and 32nd Street.
Atlantic Police Chief Dave Erickson says the concern is safety and speed, especially from trucks hauling gravel from the quarry south of Atlantic on Olive Street, “We’re just trying to slow down traffic, to keep people safe,” said Chief Erickson.
The stop signs will be placed on the north and south side of Olive Street.
