(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors awarded the cash rent bid for the County Farm at Tuesday’s board meeting.
Montgomery County Auditor Stephanie Burke says the bids for the 114.5-acre farm ranged from $218.00 per acre to $255.00 for the three-year lease. The Supervisor’s awarded the high bid of $255.00 per acre to Dane Belt and Brent Bailey.
Burke says the Supervisors also accepted a grant agreement in the amount of $5,000 from the Center for Tech and Civic Life for the 2020 Montgomery County General Election. “The grant funds are used for planning and operating safe and secure election administration for the upcoming general election,” said Burke. ”
Burke says the grant money will be used to purchase hand sanitizer, and PPE for poll workers, as well as continued training for the new workers.
