(Harlan) Harlan downed Atlantic 25-19, 25-21, and 25-10 in a Hawkeye Ten Conference Volleyball game at Harlan on Thursday night.
Harlan broke away from a 13-13 tie in the first set with a 5-0 run and outscored the Trojans 12-6 to win 25-19. The Trojans opened up a 4-0 lead in the second set and held a narrow advantage until late in the match when the Cyclones finished off the game on a 3-0 run, and a 25-21 victory. Harlan raced out to an 18-4 lead in the third set and cruised to a final score of 25-10.
Senior Libero Ashley Hall had 14 digs and recorded her 1,050 career dig for the Cyclones. Harlan knocked down 42 kills and hit .344 on the night. Zophi Hendricks led the home team with 10 kills, and Joselyn Cheek and Macy Reischl dished out 16 and 14 assists respectively.
The Trojans hit .109, with 14 kills, and a serve efficiency of 90-percent. Alyssa Derby led Atlantic with four kills, and Caroline Pellett and Abby Smith three kills each. Haley Rasmussen served up 12 assists and went 14-14 from the service line with two aces. Mia Trotter and Smith led the team with eight and six digs respectively.
