(Avoca) AHSTW took good care of the football and turned it into a 39-6 win over Missouri Valley. The Vikings move to 1-1 on the year as they out gained Missouri Valley in total yardage 362-228.
Blake Holst threw for 202 yards on 13/20 passing with three touchdowns. Denver Pauley ran 18 times for 101 yards and a score. Blake Tuma hauled in two TD’s among his four receptions for 116 yards. Cole Scheffler caught a touchdown and posted one interception. Brayden Lund led the team in tackles.
Coach GG Harris says they executed what they prepared for during the week, “We were able to execute. They were giving us some outside runs that we wanted to take advantage of. Blake Holst made some big plays in the air to Blake Tuma. When we get behind the sticks and we are able to continue our drives on third downs that’s big for us.”
Up next is a trip to SW Valley.
