Sept. 1, 2020
Dear Cyclone fans,
After working closely with university officials the last several weeks, we are pleased to share that fans will be allowed to attend Iowa State volleyball and soccer events in Ames this fall. We have also decided to offer free admission to those events.
The safety of all participants and fans remains our top priority. We have thoroughly discussed many mitigation options and encourage you to click the following links for an overview of those measures for each sport.

An important factor in the decision to permit fans is our belief that Cyclone Nation is willing to adhere to our mitigation measures. The purpose of this letter is to ask for your support in helping provide a safe environment while also providing our teams an impactful home court/field advantage.
In order for our plans to succeed, we need full buy-in from everyone. I wanted to highlight several of the most important elements from the mitigation documents linked above.
1. Health Check – If you are sick or have symptoms related to COVID-19, please do not come to the game. Stay home and cheer for the Cyclones on Big 12 Now / ESPN+.
2. Face Coverings – Wear your face covering upon exit from your vehicle. Face coverings will be required at ALL times for ALL individuals. Anyone, who refuses to properly wear a face covering, will be denied access and/or removed from the facility. Gaiters and face shields are acceptable face coverings.
3. Seating – All seating is general admission. Please be respectful of fans who have arrived before you and choose your seats to maintain proper social distancing.
4. Fan Flow – We encourage fans to remain in their seats as much as possible to limit congestion on the concourses at Hilton and the walking paths at the Cyclone Sports Complex.
5. Departing the Game – Use your own judgment when departing the facility following the conclusion of the game. Take your time when leaving and respect others desire for physical distancing.
As we previously shared, attempts to implement mitigation strategies to a standard of absolute protection is simply not reasonable. It will ultimately be up to each attendee to decide if they are comfortable attending events given the mitigation strategies we implement.
Lastly, this information is subject to revision. We will continue to monitor the situation closely in the coming weeks and will take appropriate actions, including no fans for soccer / volleyball games, if circumstances warrant change.
We look forward to seeing you in Hilton Coliseum and the Cyclone Sports Complex this month.
