(Harlan) The Harlan football team looks to turn things around in week number 2 in a non-district game against Glenwood. The Cyclones are coming off a 39-34 loss to Underwood in Week One.
Harlan Head Coach Todd Bladt says they are working on cleaning up a few things this week in preparation for Glenwood.
The game was tied at 7-7 at the end of the first quarter, Underwood led 20-14 at the half, 33-21 after three quarters, before Harlan made a run in the final stanza, leading 34-33 before the Eagles posted the final score for the win.
Bladt says the offense found their niche about halfway through the game and started clicking and hitting, so they are going to build on that. The Cyclones rushed for 208 yards and threw for another 103.
Coach Bladt says he is preparing his team for a big and physical Glenwood squad.
Special teams was a bright spot for the Cyclones. Kreed Boggess averaged nearly 40 yards per punt and nearly 19 yards per kick return. Harlan kicker Jacob Spangenberg had a good night kicking off the tee with four touchbacks and went 4-for-4 on PATs
The kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Glenwood.
