(Audubon) The Audubon Girls’ Tennis Team is off to a great start with a home victory over Red Oak on Monday. The Wheelers swept singles and won two out of the three doubles matches.
Vivian Johnson defeated Ana Torres 8-1 in the N0. #1 singles match. Reagan Hoffman downed Anna Butz, 8-2, at No. #2; Jordyn Speed topped Caitlin Britten, 8-1, at No. #3; Ava Muhlbauer took the No. #4 singles match over Emma Winger, 8-4; Emma Pryor picked up a win for the Wheelers at N0. #5, over Bella Kling, 8-6, and Roslyn Muhlbauer capped off singles play with an 8-2 victory over BreeAnna Cech at No. #6, 8-2.
Johnson/Hoffman defeated Butz/Britten 8-3 in No. #1 doubles, and Speed/Muhlbauer topped Wingert/King 8-3 at No. #2 doubles. The Wheelers’ only loss was a forfeit to Torres/Cech of Red Oak at N0. #3. The forfeit was due to an Audubon player who had obligations at the State Fair.
The 2026 Audubon Tennis team is made up of 14 athletes from Audubon, Exira/EHK, and IKM/Manning. The Wheelers host Creston on Thursday, August 14. Red Oak travels to Shenandoah.
