(Audubon) Operation T-Bone returns to Audubon this weekend, bringing two days of family-friendly entertainment, community events, and local traditions.
Festivities begin Friday, August 1, with a full lineup of activities, including a parade, figure-8 races, a Show and Shine, a tractor exhibition, a T-Bone steak sandwich feed, live entertainment, and more.
Friday’s schedule kicks off with the Audubon Country Players Kids performance of WANTED: Robin and the Hoods at 3 p.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Albert’s Old-Fashioned Picnic at Albert the Bull Park begins at 5 p.m., with attendees enjoying hamburgers, chips, beans, dessert, and a drink for $10 per plate. The evening continues with a foam dance party at Audubon Square at 6 p.m., followed by the popular figure 8 races at 7:30 p.m. at the Audubon County Fairgrounds. Fireworks will cap off the night’s festivities at 10 p.m.
Saturday, August 2, features even more activities, beginning with a 7:30 a.m. 5K run. The Audubon County Good Neighbor Service will serve a freewill donation breakfast at the Memorial Building. At the same time, visitors can also enjoy the Show and Shine car show, tractor exhibition, and additional attractions throughout the day.
The weekend concludes Sunday, August 3, with the Audubon Fire and Rescue Association’s annual pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon. The menu includes fresh pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties. Proceeds from the breakfast will support the construction of a new Audubon Fire Station.
