(Stuart, Iowa) The Stuart Police Department is recognizing Officer Daniel Irving and K9 Ally for their role in a case that resulted in a 173-month federal prison sentence.
On Aug. 25, 2025, Officer Irving and K9 Ally assisted the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office during a traffic stop in Redfield. Ally alerted to the presence of narcotics, providing probable cause to search the vehicle.
The search uncovered approximately 46 grams of methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, a handgun, and ammunition. The driver, Gideon Lee Corbett, was arrested.
On July 16, 2026, Corbett was sentenced to 173 months in federal prison after being convicted of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. He will also serve four years of supervised release.
The Stuart Police Department credited the case to the work of Officer Irving and K9 Ally, as well as the cooperation of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
