(Atlantic) Atlantic Receiver and Defensive End Brock Goodrich is looking forward to competing for the South squad in the 54th Annual North-South Shrine Football game this week.
The Annual Shrine Football game features the top high school football and cheer talent at the Uni-Dome each Summer. Goodrich is heading to camp this week, preparing with South squad teammates for the game on July 25, which starts at 4:00 p.m. in the UNI-Dome at Cedar Falls.
Goodrich says he has been preparing all summer for this game and for his college career at Northwestern College in Orange City.
Goodrich capped off his senior season with 11 catches for 172 yards, averaging 15.6 yards per catch. On defense, Goodrich played havoc in the opponent’s offensive backfield with eight tackles for loss and six sacks. While Goodrich has already met some of his South Squad teammates, he is looking forward to joining the rest of the team as well. Goodrich was named to the 2026 Iowa Football Coaches Association (IFCA) All-Star roster/yearbook, recognizing him among the state’s top senior players. Additionally, he was First Team Class 3A All-District (Defense) following his senior season with Atlantic.
Goodrich says his high school career has helped him both physically and mentally.
Brock is taking his talents to Northwestern College in Orange City next fall. He is looking forward to this next chapter in his life. The Iowa Shrine Bowl is a long-standing tradition that combines athletic competition with charitable support for Shriners Hospital for Children.
The Shrine Bowl All-Star Classic is scheduled for July 25 at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, featuring the top high school football players from across Iowa. Teams are divided into North and South squads, each led by a head coach and six assistants.
The South team is coached by Glenwood Head Coach Cory Faust, with assistance from Cody Matthewson, Peter Killburg, Conner Hanafan, Michael Joyner, Matt Jones, and Dustin Elsbury.
