(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council made two appointments to the Atlantic Carnegie Public Library Board of Trustees during its meeting on Wednesday, including the reappointment of a current trustee and the appointment of a new member to fill a vacancy.
Mayor Rob Clausen nominated Cyndi Hartwig for reappointment to the Library Board of Trustees. Hartwig was previously appointed to complete the remainder of former trustee Don McLean’s term. Hartwig will begin her own six-year term, which will expire on July 1, 2032.
The mayor has also nominated Laura Freund to serve on the Library Board following Janice Dickerson’s resignation. Freund will complete the remainder of Dickerson’s term, which runs through July 1, 2028.
The Atlantic Carnegie Public Library Board of Trustees is responsible for the direct management and oversight of the public library. The nine-member board is appointed by the mayor, subject to City Council approval, with members serving staggered six-year terms.
The board meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Atlantic Carnegie Public Library, 507 Poplar Street.
