(Atlantic) The Atlantic Trojan Softball team had a solid night at the plate and defeated Treynor 18-3 in a non-conference game at Treynor on Wednesday night.
Zoey Kirchhoff and Lila Wiederstein led the Trojans’ offense. Kirchhoff went 4-4 at the plate and blasted a two-run homer. Wiederstein went 4-4 and scored four runs. London Kirchhoff went 2-4 with four RBI, and Jillian Saathoff went 3-3 and scored three times. Dylin Ball, batting in the ninth spot, went 2-2 and scored a pair of runs.
Peyton McLaren picked up the win in the circle for the Trojans. The junior allowed just a pair of hits and recorded no walks.
Atlantic is off until next Tuesday, July 7, with a doubleheader at Sioux City, East, before regionals start on Thursday, July 9.
