(Des Moines) The National Weather Service issued another excessive heat warning for much of Iowa, except for northwest Iowa.
Forecasters say dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 101 degrees could cause heat-related illness.
The good news is that cooler weather is on the horizon starting next week with highs in the upper eighties and lows in the upper sixties.
