Graveside Services: Will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Dalalutha Cemetery, north of Casey, Iowa. Online condolences may be left to the family at www.lambfuneralhomes.com. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.
Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the Cheryl Peterson Memorial Fund to be established by the family at a later date.
Cheryl Marie (Chambers) Peterson was born on September 17, 1961, the daughter of Zene and Margaret (Clarke) Chambers in Iowa. She passed away on December 9, 2025, at the Creston Specialty Care in Creston, Iowa, at the age of 64.
Cheryl was raised in Greenfield and graduated from Greenfield High School in 1980. She was united in marriage to George Peterson. She worked at Cardinal IG in Greenfield, Super 8 Hotel in Adair, Casey’s General Store, Tiger Drive Inn in Greenfield and Sunshine Day Care in Greenfield. Cheryl found joy in many things including bowling league, knitting, crocheting, hiking and being around her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Peterson; three brothers, Mike Ernst, Dan Chambers and Daryl Chambers; sisters-in-law, Kim Chambers and Diane Ernst; nephew, Brian Chambers; niece, Jewels Chambers; great nephew, Devon Ernst; along with many cousins and friends.
Cheryl is survived by her two brothers, David Chambers of Guthrie Center and Jim Ernst and wife Marcelle of Omaha; friend, Phyllis Shilling of Greenfield; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
