(Guthrie Center, IA — When the qualifiers for the Drake Relays are released at the end of this week, AC/GC’s Senior Brexton Schneider hopes he will be on it.
Schneider is currently on the bubble for the 110 Hurdles, ranking 32nd in the state with a time of 15.23. He finished 9th at the state meet last year just missing the medal stand. Last week was tough for Schneider and the whole Chargers team with all their meets cancelled because of the weather. If he gets the chance, Schneider believes he can go low
Schneider is the anchor for the Shuttle Hurdle that won the state title last season and lost just one runner. Morgun Nolte and Tommy Skram are back and Collin Stringham has emerged as the 4th runner. Schneider says they still have some work to do to get back to last year’s form
The 4×100 relay is a regular at the Drake Relays and right now they are on the bubble in 96th place with 96 relays going. Schneider says they will try to reduce their time this week as well with this line up
Schneider is carrying on a family tradition at AC/GC — his brother Treyton Schneider did hurdles and set some strong times on the track. Brexton broke all his records last year which was a goal
AC/GC will be at Van Meter tonight, Earlham on Tuesday and will host their own relays on Thursday. The deadline to apply for the Drake Relays is this Friday morning at 6 am.
