(Benton Co.) A Kansas man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Benton County, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:18 p.m. on Highway 30 near 32nd Avenue. Authorities say a 2006 Chevy Silverado, driven by 58-year-old Ricardo Garcia-Garcia of Kansas City, and a 2026 Buick Regal, driven by 39-year-old Brunis Alcy of Cedar Rapids, were both traveling eastbound in the left lane when the collision happened.
The Silverado rear-ended the Buick, causing the car to enter the south ditch. The pickup then lost control, crossed the median, and rolled several times.
Garcia-Garcia died as a result of the crash and was transported to Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.
