(Harlan) The Harlan City Council approved several items during its meeting Tuesday, including setting a public hearing for the proposed sale of city-owned property.
Council members approved a resolution to hold a public hearing on April 21 at 5:15 p.m. regarding the sale of lots 21-23 and 25 in the G.H. Christiansen Subdivision to Hansen House Harlan LLC for a cumulative price of $4,000.
The council also approved a $2 per hour pay increase for the Parks Department Superintendent, Veterans Memorial Auditorium/C.G. Therkildsen Superintendent, and Street Department Superintendent.

Additional approvals included a multi-purpose permit application for the Westside, a resolution authorizing the City to apply for membership in the Iowa Municipalities Workers’ Compensation Association, the City of Harlan Policy on Salary and Pay Increase Requests, and a multi-purpose permit application for Relay for Life.
The Council also set April 21 at 5:15 p.m. as the public hearing date for the proposed fiscal year 2026-27 annual budget.
