(Atlantic) Employees of 1rst Whitney Bank in Atlantic are coming together to support two coworkers undergoing cancer treatment. Bank employee April Hansen says a fundraiser in honor of Margie Young and Tianna Hansen will be held Sunday, April 12th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Wiota Steakhouse. Hansen noted that both women were diagnosed with cancer just weeks apart.
Hansen says Tianna is currently taking chemo treatments once every three weeks.
Hansen says 1rst Whitney Bank is a small family that takes care of each other.
Brenda Havens of the Wiota Steakhouse has generously offered the venue and will donate $5 from every meal sold to benefit Margie and Tianna.
The menu features a choice of roast beef or chicken, served with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn or green beans, along with tea, coffee, water, and dessert for $20.
Employees of First Whitney Bank will also be working for tips, which will go directly to Margie and Tianna.
Hansen says the event will offer both dine-in and carryout options. Carryout orders can be picked up on the north side of the building, with a lineup on Prospect Street in Wiota facing west.
For those unable to attend, donations can be dropped off at First Whitney Bank and Trust, where a designated fund has been established and will be evenly distributed between Margie and Tianna.
