(Iowa) — Iowa State Patrol Troopers will deploy their Mobile Breath Alcohol Testing truck over the next few months. After full training sessions, the Iowa State Patrol will be posting the truck at various high-traffic or high-risk areas across the state, eliminating the need to transport suspects to distant, fixed police stations, and allowing troopers to process multiple arrests at once, reducing the time officers spend off the road.
Police Across Iowa Looking For People Using Their Phones While Driving This Week
(Des Moines, IA ) — A statewide crackdown on distracted driving started Monday morning. The Hands Free Traffic Enforcement initiative will continue through Friday. Officers statewide will increase patrols actively looking for violations. The law took effect last summer, with a warning period until January first. Last year, Iowa had the lowest number of fatal traffic accidents since 1925. Law enforcement credits the new hands free law. Violations cost 170-dollars.

Data from the Iowa Department of Education show Iowa’s 2025 graduation rate rose half a percentage point to 88-point-eight-percent, the highest level in five years and the first time Iowa’s graduation rate exceeded pre-pandemic levels since 2020. In 2025, Iowa saw graduation rates rise for both male and female students and overall dropout rates decline.
Iowa-Based Caseys Adds Stores In Florida And Alabama

Casey’s bought a number of existing stores in the two states and is converting them to Caseys this week. Casey’s is the third-largest gas and convenience store chain in America, with more than 2,900 stores in 19 states.
Iowa Has The Fifth Lowest Rate of Adults Living With Parents In The U.S.
(Des Moines, IA) — A third of adults 18 to 34 years old in the U.S. live with their parents, according the investment website Visual Capitalist. In Iowa it’s 22-percent, the fifth lowest in the nation. Only North Dakota, Wyoming, South Dakota, and Nebraska are lower. The highest in the nation include New Jersey, where 44-percent of adults 18 to 34 still live with their parents.
