(Atlantic) Hank Roberts wrapped up his archery career at the State Archery Tournament on March 29th. He was a major contributor to the Atlantic Archery Team and was one of two student-athletes at the state meet to receive the Chuck “Coach” Hallier Scholarship. For that, Hank Roberts is awarded the KS95.7 Armor Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
Atlantic Head Coach Clint Roland touts the scholarship as one of the highest honors an Archery participant can receive.
The Chuck “Coach” Hallier Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship awarded in memory of Chuck “Coach” Hallier for his dedication to the archery program. He was a mentor to archers and coaches in the teaching of archery and instilled lifelong skills, including self-respect and respect for others.
This scholarship is typically offered to students, often in a related field, who exhibit qualities such as dedication, hard work, and perhaps a passion for sports or coaching, as was central to Coach Hallier’s legacy.
The $1,000 award is given to students who meet the eligibility requirements, which may include academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and a demonstrated commitment to values important to Coach Hallier, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service. The exact criteria may vary by the scholarship’s administering organization, whether it’s a school district, athletic association, or community group.
