(Oakland, IA) — Riverside Boys Track and Field will be back in action tonight. The Bulldogs are hoping to crack the top three in the team standings at state this year. That means they need to score in as many events as possible and it means a new role for Junior Owen Fenner.
At last Tuesday’s Early Bird Meet at Audubon, Fenner won the open 400 and so far his fastest time was during the indoor season at 52.20 which currently ranks 9th in Class 1A. Its a good beginning he says as he learns more about running the 400 length
Fenner says there is a good feeling on the team about achieving their goals at the blue oval this year
On the relay front, Fenner has possibilities of running the 4×400, the 4×800 and the Distance Medley. He says there are a lot of interchangeable parts; many guys can run in many different events
Fenner was part of Riverside cross country team that won a state title in the fall and that has only helped stoked everybody’s fire for track season
Fenner and Riverside will be at the Jerome Howe Relays in Treynor tonight.
