(Atlantic) The Atlantic girls’ soccer team opens the season on Monday under new head coach Amy Sachs.
Coach Sachs is a Harlan graduate and started playing soccer at the age of five. Sachs started all four years at Harlan and earned a scholarship to play at the College of St. Mary’s. Sachs and her husband moved to Atlantic six years ago.
Coach Sachs says her main emphasis in preseason practice is teaching her players how to be confident.
The Trojans return ten seniors, one junior, and quite a few freshmen and sophomores.
Coach Sachs says this is a fun group, and she is looking forward to the season. The Trojans open up the season at home against Glenwood. The game starts at 5:30 p.m. at the High School Soccer Field.
