(Council Bluffs) Council Bluffs Police are investigating the death of a man found early this (Thursday)Â morning in Bayliss Park.
At approximately 05:57 AM, Council Bluffs Police officers were dispatched to Bayliss Park, located at 100 Pearl Street, following a report of an unresponsive male. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male deceased within the park grounds. Preliminary evidence at the scene indicates the individual died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
At this stage of the investigation, there is no evidence of foul play, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin. The Council Bluffs Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is currently handling the matter.
