(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern talked to the Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting about a number of upcoming projects.
Sebern presented a DOT funding agreement for a bridge project that is on White Pole Road over the Middle River and is east of Casey. Sebern says that deck on the bridge is quite bad and he and Supervisor Mike Dickson says the project is long overdue
Sebern says the bridge is scheduled to be replaced in 2027 using federal money and will be put to bid in the winter with the goal of completion before the re-paving of White Pole Road which starts in 2028. The supervisors voted 5-0 to approve.
Supervisor Chair Steve Smith asked Sebern about when the project on Wagon Road between Panora and Stuart will start and Sebern says April
Sebern also says that the replacement of the bridge east of Diamond Head Road over South Coon that was built in the 1970s is now completed and came under budget. Sebern also says they intend to renew their mowing contract for another year.
