(Bedford, IA) — Bedford held an Early Bird Co-Ed track meet on Tuesday night and the home team won the boys competition while Fremont Mills was 2nd in the boys and first in the girls standings. The Knights won with 150 points well ahead of 2nd place Griswold with 85. Nodaway Valley was 3rd with 66 followed by Bedford and Lenox. The Bulldogs won the boys with 110.5 points ahead of Fremont Mills with 101; Lenox in third with 95 followed by Nodaway Valley and Southwest Valley.
Lana Alley and Carlie Nuckolls of Fremont Mills had big nights with four first place finishes. Alley won the 100 Hurdles and the 200, setting a PR in the latter at 25.93 seconds. Nuckolls won the 400 Hurdles and both runners were in the 4×100 and Shuttle Hurdle relays while Nuckolls also was in the 4×200.
Carsyn Adams of Griswold won the 400 and finished 2nd in the 100 Hurdles, 400 Hurdles and anchored the Shuttle Hurdle relay to a 2nd place finish. Ella Gade of the Tigers won the discus with a best throw of 108-00.
Gabe Winkelman of Nodaway Valley was a two time winner in the 800 and 3200 and the Wolverine boys won the 4×800 relay. For the girls, Abby Nelson won the 800 with a PR; Izzy Eisbach won the 1600 and the girls won the Distance Medley relay with Eisbach on anchor. Emma Boswell was 2nd in the High Jump and Long Jump.
Brody Crozier of Southwest Valley won both the 100 and 200 setting PRs in both and Caleb Owen won the Shot Put.
CAM did not get any wins with about half their team out of town on the school trip to Washington D.C. — Jace Hardisty was 2nd in the discus, Ethan Chaney 2nd in the 3200 and Cohen McCann 2nd in the 200. For the girls, Stella Beattie was 3rd in the shot put and Ruthie Rich was 3rd in the 200.
For Lenox, Caden Kaufman was a two time winner in the 400 and 400 Hurdles.
