(Elk Horn, IA) — Exira EHK Boys Track and Field will be limited this spring by low numbers — there are only six guys out this spring with one thrower. That means that Head Coach Kevin Brown will focus on just individual performances and forgo any relays. The Spartans did not have anybody qualify for the state tournament a year ago and it was disappointing for now Senior Austin Rasmussen who will be motivated in the long distance runs to get to the blue oval says Brown
Another Senior is Ben Baggett who is a middle distance runner specializing in the 800 and will push it to the one mile. He is back on the team says Brown after a taking a year off
There are also Sophomores John Ty, Jack Lassek, and Rye Butler who are sprinters and Freshman Chet Boysen who is a thrower. Brown says the goals for the boys are to improve and try to qualify for state
Exira EHK will open their outdoor season at Audubon’s Early Bird meet on Tuesday, March 31.
