(Atlantic, IA) — Iowa Attorney and former State Senator Jim Carlin addressed many issues at Tuesday’s Republican candidate forum in Atlantic — among them healthcare. One question posed was that the U.S. Congress has not passed significant health care reform since the Affordable Cares Act — otherwise known as Obama Care — was passed in 2010. Carlin believes in restoring free markets for health care
Carlin says that health care becomes less relevant when deductibles for some people are as high as $15,000. Carlin says that the Affordable Care Act actually raised health care prices
Carlin is running in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate that will be vacated by Joni Ernst when her term expires this year — Carlin’s opponent is current Congresswomen Ashley Hinson who could not be in Atlantic on Tuesday because of her duties in the House of Representatives.
