(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon Boys Track and Field team will be young this year and will not have the depth to field a full time but Head Coach Tony Konkler is excited with the talent that he has. 13 total guys are out for track — 3 of them will be throwers and there is only one senior — Brody Schultes. Konkler feels the strength of his team is in the middle distance and wants to focus on the Distance Medley and 4×400 relays
Aiden Kjergaard will be in the open 400; Jorgen Nowatzke seems solid in the 800; Schultes has experience in the 400 hurdles plus the open 200 and 400; Mason Kasperbauer and Paxton Beane will be in the 100 and 200.
In the throws, Lane Meyer made it to the state tournament in the shot put and Konkler says he can throw it farther this year
Konkler says Hayden Larsen has potential in the discus and Ty Bowlin will also be in the shot put.
There does not seem to be too many question marks where kids fit in coming into the season which Konkler likes
Audubon will be hosting an Early Bird Meet on Tuesday, March 31 — the girls will host an Early Bird on Monday, March 30.
