(Guthrie Center, IA) — AC/GC girls track and field will be hungry for leadership this season after Ava Campbell graduated and went to NW Missouri St. Head Coach Jacob Lacey has no shortage of candidates to pick up the baton so to speak. The Chargers have a big junior class with Cadence Petersen making it to state in the 400 Hurdles and finishing in 17th place — Lacey says she has shown versatility
Other juniors include Nora Langgard, Meranda Gruber, and Brooklyn Schafer and Senior Savannah Akers. Some of them are sprinters so Lacey likes his depth there
The Chargers have some potential in the field events — Freshman Tessa Slaybaugh finished 6th in the long jump at the IATC meet and Lacey says there are plenty of options in both the jumps and the throws
AC/GC will start their outdoor season next Tuesday, March 31 at an early bird meet in Earlham.
