(Atlantic, IA) — Property tax reform continues to be the issue that dominants the state legislature but the issue is bogged down with different proposals being considered — one in the Senate, one in the House and one from Governor Reynolds. Legislator Tom Moore recently expressed his frustration with the process saying at the recent Atlantic forum that he might not vote for anything until a new governor is in place. Brad Sherman is a Republican running for governor and he stopped by Atlantic on Wednesday and he does not believe any of the three proposals make any radical changes
Putting expenses online, Sherman says, would hold government accountable and keep the public more informed
Another bill that is getting bogged down in the state legislature is one on eminent domain which passed the Iowa House but got changed in the Senate. There were protestors in Des Moines on Wednesday frustrated with the process. Sherman seemed frustrated by it as well
Sherman will be part of a Meet the Republican Candidates forum next Tuesday where those Republicans running for Governor, Senate and Auditor will be at the Cass County Community Center beginning at 6:30 pm.
