(Atlantic) The cast is finishing rehearsals for this weekend’s production of Little Women at the Atlantic High School Auditorium.
Little Women is story of the four March sisters—Jo March, Meg March, Beth March, and Amy March—as they grow up during the American Civil War. Guided by their loving mother, Marmee March, the sisters face challenges, celebrate successes, and learn important lessons about family, love, and following their dreams. The story focuses especially on Jo March, an ambitious young writer determined to make her own path in the world. Jo March is played by Atlantic High School Senior Margaret McCurdy.
The sisters experience friendship, heartbreak, and personal growth, ultimately discovering that their strongest support comes from one another. Meg March, played by Amelia Olsen.
Beth March is the gentle and shy sister who loves music and represents kindness and selflessness, and played by Norah Olsen.
Ann March is the youngest sister, artistic and ambitious, who dreams of becoming a painter, played by Gabrielle Engler.
And finally, another key character in this production is Theodore “Laurie” Laurence – The March sisters’ wealthy neighbor and close friend who becomes deeply connected to the family. played by Dean Cook.
The show opens on Friday, March 20, and March 21 at 7:00 p.m. The Sunday show is a matinee starting at 2:00 p.m., and tickets are $8.00.
