(Anita, IA) — CAM girls track and field had a strong performance at last week’s IATC Indoor meet. The Sprint Medley relay team finished in the first place with Junior Brookelyn Steffen, Freshman Brylee Steffen, Junior Ruthie Rich and Junior Ada Hansen. The 4×100 relay also ran faster then they did last season and finished 3rd with Brookelyn Steffen, Hansen, Junior Courtney Follmann and Rich. Hansen also finished second in the 60 meter hurdles — she is the defending state champ in the 400 Hurdles. It will be hard for her to top last season but Head Coach Luke Symonds says she is going to give it her best shot
Symonds says that 15 girls came out for the team this spring; he says four of them will be throwers
Symonds says that they are not very strong in the distance runs. He does say he wants everybody to peak towards the end of the season to make a run at the blue oval
CAM girls will be at a indoor meet this Saturday in Pella; the outdoor season begins on Monday, March 30 at Audubon and then they compete at Bedford on Tuesday, March 31.
