(Audubon, IA) — The Audubon girls track and field will be going solo this year — Exira EHK will field their own team. Numbers will be tight — Head Coach Laeni Christensen says there are 10 girls out for track this spring and she expects Senior Kadence Sporrer and Junior Marie Brand to be the leaders. Sporrer is primarily a middle distance runner in the 800 and Christensen says she is successful for a couple of reasons
The team will be young says Christensen with a lot of freshmen and sophomores so its hard to tell where everybody will be competing and she wants to keep options open to see what events the girls will be competing in
Christensen is targeting a couple of relays to start the season
Audubon will open their outdoor season on March 30, hosting an early bird meet.
