(Atlantic) The Atlantic High School Wrestling team honored three seniors and celebrated another outstanding season at the 2026 Awards banquet on Sunday evening.
The Trojans capped off the 2025-2026 season by securing the Hawkeye Ten Conference Dual title with a perfect 10-0 record and an impressive 18-2 overall dual meet record. They also made history by sending a record-tying eight wrestlers to the state tournament, where two earned medals: Braxton Hass (132) finished 7th, and Dayton Van Horn (106) placed 8th. In total, the Trojans’ state qualifiers competed in 34 matches at the state meet.

Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff honored senior Braxton Hass, D’Artagnan Hansen, and Donovan Hedrington for their leadership. Duff stated that the team’s dual record over their four seasons in the program was 59-19, which helped the team earn five tournament titles during their high school careers.

Braxton Hass, a three-time state qualifier and one-time state medalist, had an impressive season with a 54-8 record. He wrapped up his four-year career with 171 wins, ranking 4th all-time in the program’s history.
Donovan Hedrington, a two-time state qualifier, finished his senior season with a 51-10 record, including a perfect 20-0 mark in duals, and concluded his career with 132 wins.
D’Artangan Hansen, who played a backup role throughout his career, dominated the junior varsity circuit this season, winning every J.V. tournament and a 21-1 record. In recognition of his unwavering dedication to the program, Coach Duff and his staff presented Hansen with the David Kinen Never Quit Award.
Fifteen wrestlers earned letters, and nine athletes received Trojan Heads. Coach Duff and his staff presented numerous awards, and the recipients are listed below.

Fifteen team members earned the annual “Ironman Award.” This award goes to the wrestler who misses no practices throughout the season.

Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff was also named the 2026 Class 2A Southwest District Coach of the Year, by the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association.
