(Council Bluffs) Council Bluffs police are searching for a suspect after a man was cut during a fight on Wednesday evening.
According to the Council Bluffs Police Department, officers and fire personnel responded at approximately 5:04 p.m. on March 11, 2026, to a report of a cutting in the 10 block of Bluff Street.
Investigators say the incident began when a male riding a bicycle cut in front of a vehicle, prompting a verbal exchange between the cyclist and the vehicle’s occupants. Police said Alan VanHeusen, 45, who was a passenger in the vehicle, exited and began fighting with the bicyclist.
During the altercation, VanHeusen was cut in the right leg by the unidentified suspect. The suspect fled the scene and had not been located as of the latest police update.
VanHeusen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
