(Adair Co.) The Adair County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing on a resolution to vacate a portion of 115th Street south of Stuart.
Adair County Engineer Nick Kauffman explained that the east half of the road is dirt, and the landowners are in favor of vacating it. The board heard from some individuals who would like to see it left open.
Another individual noted that two semis, two cars and a truck have gotten stuck on that dirt road since October.
Following some discussion, the Supervisors ultimately approved a motion not to vacate that portion of 115th Street and said they will revisit the matter at another time.
The Supervisors also held a public hearing on an ordinance repealing the ordinance regulating the placement of hazardous liquid pipelines on properties located in the unincorporated areas of Adair County. There were no public comments during the hearing. The Supervisors waived the second and third readings of the ordinance and approved it.
