(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors approved a budget amendment, an elevator fire alarm service contract, the non-renewal of a software contract, and a suspension of taxes during Tuesday’s meeting in Red Oak.
The supervisors held a public hearing at 9:15 a.m. on an appropriations resolution to amend the fiscal year 2025–2026 budget. The expenditures, spread across five departments, totaled $65,589.
The breakdown includes:
- Auditor: $13,700
- Courthouse: $15,000
- Clerk of Court: $15,000
- Data Processing: $9,500
- Non-departmental: $12,289
The board also approved a contract with Midwest Alarm Service for fire alarm monitoring for the courthouse elevator. According to County Auditor Jill Ozuna, the contract includes an initial payment of $700 and an annual payment of $900 for three years.
In other business, the supervisors approved the non-renewal of the software and managed IT services agreement for fiscal year 2027, except for the Recorder’s Office.
The board also approved a suspension of taxes order for 2025, payable for 2026/2027, at a location in Emerson.
