Kimberly Jo Gipple, the daughter of Roy and Maree (Beck) Westfall, was born January 19, 1965, in Atlantic, IA. She died March 4, 2026, at UNMC in Omaha, NE, at the age of 61 years, 1 month, and 16 days.
Kim graduated from Atlantic High School with the class of 1983. She worked at several jobs, including selling World Book Encyclopedias, at Super 8 Hotel, Griswold Care Center, and her most enjoyed job at Our Daily Bread in Griswold. She was a member of a bowling league in Atlantic, volunteered at the Lords Closet in Griswold, and was a member of the Lewis Church of Christ and Bible study group.
Kim was known for her contagious smile and heart for serving others. She was a selfless woman of faith, smart and dependable, and a voice of reason, always there to listen and offer sound advice. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with all of her grandchildren. She was known for her long black hair, pretty smile, and love for dressing up, with endless outfits, boots, purses, jewelry, and accessories.
She loved collecting things such as bibles, seashells, angels, Native American décor, willow trees, patriotic items, feathers, and many more. She enjoyed quiet days at home, visiting with her family and many friends, and could chat on the phone for hours. She was often referred to as strong, brave, and stubborn.
Kim enjoyed reading books and devotionals, watching Wheel of Fortune, and music was a big part of her life. She used music as a way to express herself, sending songs back and forth with her children, and singing and dancing around the house with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed going on adventures like weekend trips to Wisconsin with Cole, bowling league, World Book Convention in Las Vegas, and the Super 8 bedmaking contest. She traveled to Trevor’s army graduation in Missouri and took a road trip to Levi’s marine graduation in San Diego. She loved attending school activities and sports for her grandchildren and getting everyone together for the holidays.
