(Atlantic) The Cass County 4-H Pancake Supper and Silent Auction set a new fundraising record during the annual event held Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Cass County Youth Coordinator Katie Bateman said the event was a “resounding success,” thanks to strong community support. Total net proceeds from pancake sales, direct donations, and the silent auction exceeded $8,200, surpassing last year’s record by $780.
A total of 536 plates of pancakes were served during the supper, flipped by the Pancake Man. The silent auction featured 24 items donated by community members, local businesses, and all 10 Cass County 4-H clubs.
The Cass County 4-H Endowment Committee thanked everyone who attended the event, made donations, or placed bids in the silent auction. Organizers said the support helps the program continue to follow the 4-H motto of “making the best better” by providing opportunities for local youth.
Proceeds from the pancake supper benefit the Cass County 4-H Program through the Cass County 4-H Endowment Fund with the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Funds support grants that help youth attend 4-H camps and conferences outside Cass County, scholarships for graduating senior 4-H members, and local programs including STEM education and Clover Kids.
The endowment and the Cass County Extension Council also use the funds to cover the $40 annual 4-H Program Development Fee for each youth member, allowing young people in Cass County to participate in 4-H at no cost to their families.
Donations to the Cass County 4-H Endowment Fund can be made at any time of the year.
