(Indianapolis) The UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team delivered a dominant performance Sunday, crushing Iowa 96–45 to capture their second straight Big Ten Conference tournament championship at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
With the victory, the Bruins improved to 31–1 on the season and extended their winning streak to 25 games—the longest in program history. UCLA finished a perfect 18–0 in Big Ten play this year. Their only loss came in non-conference action in November against the Texas Longhorns women’s basketball, who later defeated South Carolina, 78–61 on Sunday to win the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament title.
All five starters scored in double figures, and the Bruins recorded 34 total assists while shooting an impressive 13-for-26 from three-point range. Former Utah guard Gianna Kneepkens led the way with 19 points. Kiki Rice added 15 points and eight assists, while Gabriela Jaquez scored 12 and Charlisse Leger-Walker contributed 11.
A standout performance also came from freshman Sienna Betts, the younger sister of Big Ten Player of the Year Lauren Betts. Sienna finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists—career highs in each category. Many of her assists came on high-low connections with her sister, helping power UCLA’s offense in the championship rout.
Chit-Chat Wright and Hannah Stuelke struggled to find their rhythm, combining for only nine points while shooting 4-for-20 from the field. The duo typically averages more than 26 points per game.
