(Area) Severe thunderstorms rolled through southwest and west central Iowa on Friday evening. The National Weather Service reported the following:
*6:12 p.m. Half-dollar-sized hail in northern Montgomery County near Elliott.
*6:12 p.m. quarter-sized hail in Mills County near Emerson.
*8:40 p.m. 1-inch to 1.5-inch hail in Monona County, one mile west of Blencoe.
The storms moved quickly to the northeast at 45 to 55 miles per hour.
